VeryDarkMan also known as VDM, has been causing a frenzy online with his current trip to China, as he has been exposing a lot of information to the general public with a sole aim for striking a positive change. While this would be a great idea to some, it has seemingly also caused some people some discomfort.
VeryDarkMan published a video alleging that many iPhones sold in Nigeria are actually refurbished units from China, and should not be resold at premium prices. This revelation has stirred debate not just about consumer rights, but also about the integrity of Nigeria’s tech market.

According to him, this deceptive practice misleads consumers and inflates prices unfairly. His video walkthrough allegedly reveals how these phones are reassembled overseas and shipped into Nigeria under the guise of new Apple products.
BLord and VDM
The series of events aforementioned came after well known Nigerian businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika popularly known as BLord, who is a Nigerian crypto entrepreneur, digital businessman, and the founder of Blord Group, took to his social media advertising copies of the latest iPhone 17 for sale at prices that seemed to trigger activist VeryDarkMan.
The Apple iPhone remains one of the most popular and expensive smartphones globally, and with the recent launch of the iPhone 17 series, excitement has surged across markets — including Nigeria. However, not everyone is celebrating.
The Nigerian activist and content creator VeryDarkMan continues to voice strong concerns over what he describes as ongoing “extortion” in the local smartphone market. In a detailed video, he shows how many of the iPhones sold as brand new in Nigeria are actually refurbished in China — repackaged and marketed as fresh devices.
